Our cabin in the Ozark Mountains

Our cabin is located in North Central Arkansas, in the Ozark Mountains about 16 miles south of the Missouri line, close to the town of Hardy, Arkansas.  Hardy is at the junction of highways US 62 and US 63.
Our cabin is located on the Spring River, which begins at Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. Here some 11 million gallons of water per hour comes from the spring.   Mammoth Springs is also the original home of the Grand Ole Opry.   Mary and I built the cabin ourselves back in 1990-91-92 but it was struck a glancing blow by a tornado last October 18, 2006 and we have spent most all year repairing it.  It is now in pretty good shape again and I am posting these pictures so you can see our work. We re-did the roof, put in a new window, replaced the ceiling, floor and part of the wall in one bedroom, another part of a tree went through the kitchen skylight so the floor and part of the ceiling there had to be replaced as well. We also replaced all the facia and the last two rafters on the south end.

looking east across the river just as the sun rises, taken from our deck..
Looking at the cabin from the road. The truck & trailor are loaded as we were fixing to come home.
Entering the basement, there is a pretty girl on the steps with a cell phone. ("Oh" thats my Mary), and the utility side with washer & dryer, and Bathroom just beyond.
This is the basement area with single beds on one side and a sitting area on the other.

This is the bedroom downstairs and a view of the river from the back door.

NOTE

Since these pictures were made, we were flooded twice in the spring of 2008, the bed, couches and other furniture in the basement are all gone and the walls downstairs have been re-sheetrocked but we haven't painted them yet.
Our old split cedar fence is gone too and we are in the process of re-doing the shed. The water got 44" deep in the basement in the second flood.
