"Perry A. Gifford, Sr."

Perry Gifford, Sr. was born in New Bedford, Mass. on February 10,1776, the year of the American Revolution. He moved to the Niagara Frontier in 1794, and around 1800 married his first wife. There are no pictures of him or his wives. His first wifes name is not known, she died in 1836 they had 5 children, three sons and two daughters

Perry's second wife was Mary Elizabeth (Maiden name not known). In 1838, at the age of 62, he married 21 year old Mary Elizabeth, they had four children.

After Perry died on May 1, 1847, his second wife Mary Elizabeth moved to Woodhouse Township, Norfolk County, Ont. Canada with her children. Perry A. Gifford was the youngest son of this marriage.

After they Married, Perry A. and Sarah (Barber) Gifford bought a home at the corner of Maple and Metcalfe streets in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. They had ten children whose names were,
